Traveling in Colombia, aka the first videos we ever shot.

When we told our friends and family that we were going to Colombia back in 2010, the majority of them thought we were nut jobs. While some thought we would be kidnapped by a drug cartel, others thought we would be murdered immediately once landing into Bogota. Either way, very few were supportive, which is understandable when the media isn’t helping much to portray the amazing culture, beautiful environment, and innovative entrepreneurship of the country.

In May of 2011, we made the journey to Medellin, Colombia, where we acclimated to the local culture: we ate local food, drank local beer, hiked and climbed local mountains, traveled via public and shared transportation, tried the local liquor,… well, you get the gist.

Three years later, Steve took a whole day to edit and enhance two weeks’  worth of video of our experiences in this beautiful country. We made amazing friends from the US, Ireland, and beyond, and learned a lot about the culture, and ourselves.

We mostly stuck to the Medellin area, but when we ventured out, we advise in the video where we are.

All videos were shot on a Kodak PlaySport (Burton Edition) that we picked up for about a hundred bucks before we left. Cool little camera! These were the first videos we ever shot.

Stay tuned for more info on this amazing trip. Luckily, both Steve and I journaled each day that we were in Colombia, thus making it possible for us to translate this awesome trip into internet-form.
