For coworkers that are near and dear to my heart, I will buy them the best cake on the Front Range for their birthday: a Turtle Ice Cream Cake from Magill’s World of Ice Cream.

Often, coworkers will say, “Oh, no! You don’t have to do that…Seriously!” Yeah, okay – let me let you in on a little secret:

Magill’s is a terribly awesome ice cream shop located in Lakewood, CO, that’s been putting smiles on people’s faces for the last 33 years. I almost feel bad for Steve and I because we’ve only had the pleasure of knowing such flavors as Sleepless in Seattle, Mocha Almond Fudge, and Caramel Latte for the past two years.

What attributes to 33 years in the ice cream business? 

  • A multitude of flavors ranging from old faves, like Superman, to new unique flavors, like Sleepless in Seattle
  • Fresh ingredients. This isn’t your average, grocery store’s nonsense.
  • **HOMEMADE!!!**
  • Different holiday-themed ice cream and cake
  • Waffle cones dyed Bronco’s colors, or decorated with sprinkles
  • Assortment of offerings including ice cream, ice cream cakes, shakes,…

The ice cream cakes are always what we go for when shopping for birthdays, but these cakes would totally be the hit of any upcoming retirement or graduation party. They’re moderately priced, and any of the super friendly staff are happy to help personalize the cake with names or other funny sayings for no additional charge.

Not only do they have freezers full of pre-made ice cream cakes in a variety of flavors, but you can also contact them to pre-order a special concoction.
