Events for the week of May 5 – May 11.
At least once per day, I think about Summer Camp growing up.
I went to Summer Camp every summer in New Orleans, LA, as both of my parents worked. My younger sister, Cat (pictured with me below), older brother, Walker, and I (Kirsten) hung out at Little Farms Day Camp in River Ridge, Louisiana, for nearly three months every summer for about a little over half of a decade. SPRING IS HERE, and we’ve got patios on the brain. Here’s a list of a few of our faves and where in Denver you can find them.
#1. Denver Bike Cafe – 1308 E 17th Ave, Denver, CO
We often hang out at DBC to study, meet with Denverspeax partners, and simply relax. They serve coffee, brews, and food with a smile on their faces and rad music playing. Check out DBC for their beer & cheese tastings that they hold out on the patio in the summer, too – they’re big supporters of local businesses and hosting local events spotlighting them. Also, hooray for picnic table seating! Click here to read more about this cool place on DenverSpeax. Continue reading
Using the fantastic Beer Drinker’s Guide to Colorado Beer Passport that we picked up from Denver Bike Cafe, we went on a little Beerventure yesterday to 4 local breweries: Black Shirt Brewing, Alpine Dog, Epic Brewing, and Renegade Brewing. Read more for an in-depth account of these great places as well as a map you can follow for your own Beerventure! Continue reading
Yes – this is real, and being sold at a venue near you.
We picked ours up at Denver Bike Cafe and mapped out a bike ride for this evening, covering the Denver breweries included.
Stay tuned to see how far we get!

I’m going to be upfront and honest with you, because that’s what we do here at DenverSpeax. Scout’s honor.
There may or may not have been times in the past where I was not exactly thrilled to travel to Boulder, and avoided it at all costs. The last time visiting Boulder, I almost started to appreciate it (because I found a Free People store on the mall)…BUT, I feel that this could turn my thinking around for good:
Tickets go on sale Sunday, March 1st for the event happening Sunday, April 19th from 2 – 6 pm MST. Continue reading
In order to stay motivated and active, I have signed up for my first Coloradan, non-alleycat bike ride! The Venus de Miles is taking place in Boulder, Colorado, this summer on August 29th, 2015. It’s an all-female ride, created to support women and create sisterhood. Venus de Miles is actually Colorado’s first all-women’s road ride! What an amazing way to come together with other, extraordinary women in the bike community. Continue reading
We’ve been into EDM (electronic dance music) of various forms since middle school, and thought that attending shows kind of died along with our high school days. What’s funny is that we have a ton of friends who, like us, had all been told that EDM was a phase, and when we got older we totally wouldn’t care for it any longer. Ha.
SO NOT TRUE!
Denver draws amazing musical acts period, but finding EDM shows can be a little tricky. So, how do you locate these fantastic EDM shows in Denver and the surrounding areas? Let us help you! Continue reading
